Revival of Art Mania

I had to create blogs to avoid total loss of sanity and personal integrity as I have mentioned in my article titled "Four Big Steps to Conquering Depression" on ezinearticles.com by the name of Saalik Siddiqui (the link is given below). However, due to reasons beyond my control, I have not been able to update all of them due to my own weakness of not aggressively dealing with writing blocks.

I have been facing a number of challenges for the last couple of years. It is, in fact, an inexplicable inner battle wherein I have been fighting on all frontiers with moral, spiritual, intellectual and psychological reinforcement (though hesitatingly provided) from family, friends and acquaintances.

Nevertheless, I am grateful to The Almighty God that He has blessed me with the most powerful force of the universe 'Positive Thinking' that is also my weapon of mass destruction against all the negative forces. I have survived in the worst nerve-wrecking circumstances and will positively be able to find my track that I lost in the fog of uncertainty.

I really consider myself truly fortunate to begin updating this blog with the first session of Street Art Competition - 2010 arranged by Message Welfare Trust, Bedian Road, Lahore.

Is it because my daughter Sofiah, a student of Department of Art & Design, Punjab University, also participated in it? (Her elder sister Afiah, also from the same Department, could not join the group due to some unavoidable reasons).  Perhaps yes and probably not.  Yes, because I got an opportunity to closely watch our youth working on such a progressive idea and, not, because it was also like collecting bits and pieces of my own shattered dreams from the debris of painful memories.  In a nutshell, it was exciting and enthralling experience, at least sharing feelings, emotions, ideas and concepts with these young girls and boys from various educational institutions of Lahore like Punjab University, UET, NUST, College of Home Economics, National College of Arts, School of Fashion Design, Lahore Grammar School etc.

I deliberately avoided interviewing the participant students to save their time. Will soon contact them for their interviews and comments.

Mr. Mudassir Zia's interview will also be posted here as soon as I manage to see him.

Look forward to participating myself in the next session, most probably in September, not merely as a competitor for some prize or award.  It would be, in actual fact, quenching the thirst for doing something creative, positive and constructive for our Lahore, for our Pakistan and for this growing nation.

Whatever the case may be, GROWTH is OUR DESTINY!
